2nd BCT Media Links

This blog centralized media links for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division during its deployment from Korea to Iraq as part of OIF 2.5, Aug 2004 - July 2005. It was updated daily over the year, with only sporadic updates since. It is left on-line for historical interest (although many links are likely now broken) and as a tribute to the 2nd BCT servicemen who lost their lives serving in Iraq. May they rest in peace and may their legacy be forever remembered.

New soldier sites with 2nd BCT pictures

There are pictures from Pfc. Jeff Bapst of "2nd Platoon Charlie/New Dawg 3rd platoon", 1-503rd, at: www.flickr.com/photos/enlistedcowboy/

Some pictures from Pfc. Rory Sherony, of the 2-17th FA, are at: pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/simran_zilaro/my_photos

For anyone who hasn't checked in recent weeks, there are new pictures at the following sites:
- www.steelfrg.com: The 2/17th FA has by far the best photo sections of events, and even has holiday video greetings from many of the soldiers.
- www.a-102gatorsnews.com: A Co, 1-2nd MI Bn, attached to the 2-17th
- www.topsboyz.com: 2/5 Marine Communication Platoon
- Desert Strike FRG, HHC, 1-506th section (click on 1-506th link in drop-down list at the top of the screen).
- charlie.2fsb.org: Charlie Co, 2nd FSB
- www.b-co.1-503rd.org: B Co, 1-503rd

(To the soldiers and marines who sacrifice your rare free time for the effort of sending or posting photos, know that your family and friends, and even complete strangers, are extremely thankful for the effort and glimpse into your world. My impression is that people visit this blog for photos first, news second. Also, if anyone knows of 2nd BCT photo sites not listed in the photo site or support site posts, or if you have digital photos you'd like to share with the greater 2nd BCT support network, please let me know here, and I'll add the link or help point you in the right direction.)

I just did another round of searches for the 44th Eng, with no luck. The only source I can think of is querying the folks of the two 44th Engineer discussion groups or any of the 2nd ID groups listed in the groups post. I'm not sure why there are no known soldier or active FRG sites for the 44th Eng (or for that matter, the 1/9th Infantry). I assume there is a demand, though.
