2nd BCT Media Links

This blog centralized media links for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division during its deployment from Korea to Iraq as part of OIF 2.5, Aug 2004 - July 2005. It was updated daily over the year, with only sporadic updates since. It is left on-line for historical interest (although many links are likely now broken) and as a tribute to the 2nd BCT servicemen who lost their lives serving in Iraq. May they rest in peace and may their legacy be forever remembered.

    Ryan,

Are you sure there are no articles from the weekend (04/16 & 04/17)? I searched from your site over the weekend and found some articles re: the marine base in Ramadi, Blue Diamond, and 3 soldiers killed. I hope those news articles were wrong! But I was checking your site today for updates and saw your post. Hmmmm.
Thanks for all you do - Judy Macy

There were articles mentioning incidents in Ramadi over the weekend, and the original releases can be found at the Multi-National Force-Iraq press release page. I did not post these links because ha been my personal policy to not link any articles reporting Soldier or Marine deaths until after the Department of Defense has released their names. This choice is ultimately out of respect for the fallen soldiers and their families - to give them their privacy and space - but is also in small part in order to not exacerbate the worrying of the larger group of already worried families. I have added a new link on the right side-bar containing the primary search links in case anyone would like to use them regularly.
