The Winfield, KS, Courier has an 2.18.2005 article on a Marine wounded in Ramadi. Lance Cpl Timothy Horton, who's unit wasn't given, suffered severe shrapnel wounds and several broken bones when an IED detonated near his position. He has had six surgeries, and a separate Winfield Courier article indicates that part of his left leg was amputated. His parents are presently in Bethesda, MD, at his side.

A Department of Defense news article mentions that "Iraqi and U.S. forces continued increased security operations throughout Iraq's Anbar province over the weekend. Those operations netted more than 50 suspected terrorists and multiple weapons caches." Specific incidents are described around Fallujah, Saqliwiyah, and Hadithah (none appear to include 2nd BCT units). A long list of confiscated munitions in the Anbar province is also given.
