Combat Fatality
The Department of Defense announced the combat death of a 2nd BCT soldier.
Pfc. Aaron J. Rusin, of the 44th Engineer Battalion, died on 10.11.2004 from injuries one day after his vehicle came under enemy fire in Baghdad. Pfc. Rusin was from Johnstown, Pa. According to the Pittsburg Tribune-Review, Pfc. Rusin is a 3rd generation veteran - his father served in Vietnam and his grandfather in WWII - and hoped to attend college under the G.I. Bill.
